Antarctic Ice Collapses Friday, March 28, 2008

The collapse this week of a large portion of the Wilkins Ice Shelf in Antarctic (South Pole) is believed to be the result of global warming. The chunk of ice is similar in land area to Northern Ireland and broke off on March 25, 2008.

We have included a YouTube video which is two minutes long and includes some great video and an insight into the collapse, we also highly recommend the NewScientist article which includes additional information and also has another very interesting YouTube video from them.

If you want to show the video full screen, which is ideal for use on a digital projector, click on the video and it will bring you to the YouTube website, from there you can click on the button just below the video to make it full screen.
